To generate personalized book recommendations, we ask about your book reading habits and preferences. This information is sent to OpenAI’s ChatGPT API to suggest books tailored to your preferences. We do not store this data permanently, and it is used only for generating recommendations.
Please note: We do not have control over how ChatGPT processes this information once it is sent. Refer to OpenAI’s Privacy Policy for more details on how they handle your data.
3. Analytics and Advertising Data
We use multiple analytics services to track app usage, performance, user interaction, and advertising effectiveness:
a) Google Analytics for Firebase
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to track app usage and performance. Data collected may include:
- User interactions with the app
- Device information (e.g., operating system, device type)
- Anonymized IP address
b) Facebook SDK (Meta)
We use Facebook SDK to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns and understand how users discover our app. The Facebook SDK collects:
- Advertising identifiers (IDFA on iOS, when permitted)
- App events and interactions (app launches, in-app actions)
- Attribution data (whether you installed the app after viewing or clicking an ad)
- Device information (device model, operating system version, screen size)
- Network information (carrier, connection type)
- App installation and uninstallation events

Important: You can limit ad tracking on your iOS device by going to Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking and disabling “Allow Apps to Request to Track.” You can also reset your advertising identifier in Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising.
Note: Analytics and advertising tracking are essential for monitoring app performance and cannot be completely disabled within the app.
4. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions
We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions. RevenueCat securely handles all transactions, and we do not store any personal financial information such as credit card details. RevenueCat may collect:
- Subscription status
- Transaction history
- User activity related to purchases
How We Use Your Information
- Personalization: Your name and book preferences are used locally to provide custom book recommendations.
- Book Suggestions: Your book preferences are temporarily shared with OpenAI’s ChatGPT API to generate recommendations. We do not store this data.
- Analytics and Advertising: We use anonymized data collected via Google Analytics for Firebase and Facebook SDK to understand user behavior, improve the app, and measure advertising effectiveness.
- Marketing: We may use aggregated data from Facebook SDK to create lookalike audiences and improve our advertising targeting, but this does not involve sharing your personal information.
- Purchases: RevenueCat handles all subscription and in-app purchase transactions.
Sharing of Your Information
- ChatGPT API: Your book preferences are sent to OpenAI’s ChatGPT API to generate recommendations. While we do not store this information, you can refer to OpenAI’s Privacy Policy to understand how they handle your data.
- Google Analytics for Firebase: We share anonymized data with Google Analytics to monitor app usage and improve performance.
- Facebook/Meta: We share analytics and attribution data with Facebook to measure ad performance and improve our marketing efforts. This data is processed according to Facebook’s Data Policy.
- RevenueCat: Subscription and purchase data is securely handled by RevenueCat.
